Located on Highway 49, in the heart of Downieville, our comfortable, private cabins are the ideal place to enjoy winter, spring, summer and fall! As you walk the wooden sidewalks of Downieville, step back into the days of old.
One of few historical mining towns left today, Downieville offers a variety of attractions. Sports enthusiasts will enjoy, hiking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and some of the best mountain biking in the country. Water recreation includes whitewater rafting, fishing and swimming.

Hundreds of miles of National Forest trails leave unlimited opportunities to enjoy untouched land like no other.
Gold Panning
One of the most historical mining towns left today, Downieville offers many possibilities for those with "the Fever." There are museums, local mining tours, and rivers to pan, or ask the front desk to make arrangements for a guided prospecting trip. Equipment and instructions are supplied.
Golf
There are two 18-hole golf courses in the beautiful Graeagle area, about 45 minutes' drive from the Inn.
Horseback Riding
At the nearby Lakes Basin Recreation Area, you can go on trail rides, wagon rides, and overnight pack trips. Visit the site of Reid Horse & Cattle Company for information.
Kid Stuff
Expose your children to the natural beauty of the Sierras! We are located 100 yards from the Yuba and Downie rivers, walking distance to some of the best swimming holes around. The nearby Lakes Basin Recreation Area offers the shallow warm waters of Sand Pond, a popular spot to take the little ones. Back at the Inn, numerous games, puzzles and books are available for your use. Newly-installed playground equipment can be enjoyed by all at the nearby park. Have a toddler or a small child?--ask about the use of a child's bike trailer.
Snowshoeing
One of the fastest-growing sports today! The many miles of National Forest trails are perfect for taking in the beauty of the surrounding area.
Cross-country (Nordic) Skiing
Drive up Hwy 49, put on your skis and head out on miles of beautiful backcountry Forest Service roads and trails.
