Sunset House - 1920's South Florida Elegance
Description
Sunset House is an elegant original 1925 Mediterranean-style duplex home that has been painstakingly renovated throughout with extreme attention to every detail. It is filled with wonderful art, furnishings, and antiques for the person who appreciates the finer things in life. We offer optional maid service, off-street parking, coin laundry on premises, and high polished wood floors. Sunset House is filled with beautiful Oriental rugs and antiques, it has central air conditioning, smoke detectors, bathroom and kitchen phones, a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops, under-counter lighting on all custom kitchen cabinetry, stainless-steel appliances with gas burners, and electric convection ovens.
The outside shows custom-made over-sized, exterior period copper lighting fixtures, most interior lighting fixtures original ca. 1920s, fully tiled garden shower in very lush tropical backyard filled with coconut palms, Heliconias, and Giant Bird of Paradise. We also provide a backyard barbecue with outdoor eating/entertaining facilities. Professional landscaping also includes all yard maintenance.
This is a one-bedroom lower duplex unit with a dramatic multi-arched spacious two-level front porch filled with wicker furniture and tropical plants where you can sit on the wicker and enjoy the parade of neighbors jogging, walking their dogs, or just out for a stroll on our beautiful street.
The French doors off living room leading to large formal covered back porch with an incredible wrought iron gate and banister. The living room is dominated by a large, chunk, coral, working fireplace. The formal dining room still retains the original wrought iron chandelier. There is a walk-in closet in the bedroom and walk-in shower in bathroom. The turn-of-the-century, queen-sized antique solid cherry-wood bed is from the Newport, Rhode Island estate of the famous financier J.P. Morgan.
We are conveniently located among million dollar homes in the heart of the historical district of "Flamingo Park," just across the bridge from the island of Palm Beach. We are within walking distance (or use our new bikes...) to fabulous downtown West Palm Beach and City Place, the Intercoastal, the Kravis Performing Arts Center, and Worth Avenue shopping. Choose from dozens of sidewalk cafes or go upscale to a large choice of fine restaurants. All that you will need for your stay at Sunset House has been carefully provided with "... the best of the best". Our goal is to IMPRESS... at less than the price of a hotel.
