Condo Vacation Rental...Batu Ferringhi / Penang
Description
Batu Feringgi is no surf beach. There are no rollers fresh from the Indian Ocean, just a slow easy swell that slides up onto the clean yellow-brown sand, lets you know that it?s around and then sighs back. It is easy to imagine the first European sailors drifting ashore on the gentle swells to find fresh water and gazing up at the forested slopes that rise steeply behind the foreshore. You can walk along the soft sand, wade in shallow water, spend an hour sitting in the shade of tall casuarina trees watching the fisherman mending nets or rest against the giant basalt rocks that guard each end of the beach. Enjoy the excitement of the para-sailers or the hesitant first-timers on hired jet-skis. When it all becomes too frenetic retreat to the beach-side bar and sip on an ice cold Tiger beer.No hawkers, no sarung sellers, no kids hawking watches, jewellery, or introductions to their sister, or their brother who sold funny cigarettes. Above all there was, never once, that intrusive, insidious cry, ?Hello, you want massage??
Butterfly Farm, Teluk Bahang
Open to public on March 29, 1986 is the first tropical butterfly farm in the world. It spans 0.8ha. and houses 4,000 live butterflies of 120 different species. City Hall, Esplanade
Built in 1880s, this stately colonial building is a fine example of British palladian architecture featuring magnificent Corinthian columns and huge windows. The Council Chamber, where the Municipal Councilors regularly convene,is located on the ground floor. The small monument on the Esplanade is the Cenotaph, a memorial to the victims of World War I.
Botanical Gardens, Jalan Kebun Bunga
Offers peace and tranquility amidst green surroundings, tropical plants and vibrant colours of Penang flora. This 30-ha garden also features a waterfall. Created in 1884 by the British, it was meant to be a tribute to Charles Curtis, its first superintendent who collected botanical specimens from the surrounding hills ? specimens which have since become significant samples in the world's major herbariums. The garden is well-known for its bold Rhesus monkeys. The garden is also a favourite spot for jogging and picnics.
