This luxury Swiss Chalet, built for the owners in 1986 and sleeping eight, situated in Morissen, Canton Grisons, benefits from a south-eastern exposure in the sunlit Val Lumnezia ("Valley of Light") and a near panoramic view of the alpine snow-capped peaks. The Ski Lift stations are 1-mile downhill from the Chalet to which skiers return on easy well-groomed ski paths. Vehicular access on asphalted roads is assured all year. In Summer and Fall, trails to the high peaks are a hiker's and botanist's delight.
Morissen is a small 250 inh. working village, off the main road, with year-round residents and a sprinkling of vacation chalets. A restaurant, a dairy and a small market are within walking distance. Vella, the regional administrative center a mile away, has 4 restaurants, a mini-market, petrol station and auto repair, a modern bakery, a pharmacy and medical clinic, a bank and a post office. Shopping malls and a business district are within 6 miles.
The internationally known resorts of Obersaxen-Meierdorf, Flims, Laax, Klosters, Davos, Parpan, Andermatt are within easy motoring distance. Zurich and Milan airports are accessible by motorway 2 to 3 hours away. Bus connections to Ilanz, a medieval city nearby, rail point for the Glacier Express and Upper Rhine rafting, are frequent. Sports include skiing, hiking, hang-gliding, ballooning, bicycling, kayaking, tennis, fishing, soccer. Our local English speaking manager will meet you on arrival and be available for information or other assistance throughout your stay.
Convenient main floor access for disabled persons is provided by a gently sloping path from the front door leading to the Terrace and main floor balcony. There, 3 French doors to the living room and dining area provide an even level adjoining the Master Bedroom suite, kitchen and wet bar.
