Mexico Beach Vacation Rental – Summerhouse #408
We’ve Scene It! – In Mexico Beach

I have to say, this job definitely has its perks! Last night Mike and I called it a day in Mexico Beach, Florida. We found a last-minute vacation rental (with help from Teresa at Forgotten Coast!), checked in, and hit the Tiki Bar at Toucan’s. We had a cold beer while we watched the sun set over the water. We also watched a swarm of seagulls circle this little boy who was running around the beach and feeding them – bad idea, kid. Then we headed over to Sunset Coastal Grille in Port St. Joe – a friendly local had told us that it was the best food around. Thanks, Tony! It was really good – definitely try the Garlicky Scallops appetizer, but only if you’ve got some Altoids or a very understanding family. (But even if they avoid you for the rest of the night, trust me, it’s worth it!)
Thanks to Forgotten Coast Property Management & Rentals, we ended up staying in this gorgeous condo in Mexico Beach – Summerhouse #408. It’s a 4 story condo complex right in the heart of Mexico Beach. We were on the top floor so we had a fantastic view of the Gulf of Mexico and the calm Mexico Beach beaches. The condo was pretty spacious and was decorated really nicely – very modern style. There were several things in the vacation rental that I really wanted in my house! And, unlike a hotel, there were all the comforts of home – washer/dryer, leather sofas, full kitchen appliances, and (the one that totally won me over) a soaking tub. Seriously, what hotel is going to have that?! Sadly, I had a little work to do so I couldn’t enjoy the tub, but it’s still just another reason why everyone should Take a Vacation from Hotels™!
We’re heading east today towards Cape San Blas, Shell Point, and Alligator Point, then we’re heading south towards Cedar Key and Crystal River. Owners, if you want us to stay at your by owner vacation rental and blog about it, contact us at mbraswell@scenicrentals.com!
