We’ve Scene It! – Beach Castle in Longboat Key

Mike and I are still southward bound and we found ourselves making camp last night in Longboat Key. Thanks to the folks at Sun Resorts International, we found ourselves a last-minute by owner vacation rental at Beach Castle in Longboat Key. This cozy little condo complex is tucked in amongst lush palm trees and is only comprised of 21 units. It felt so welcoming and private. Exactly what you want your vacation rental by owner to feel like! And it’s on both sides of Gulf of Mexico Drive, so the units have either a gulf view or a bay view. We got ourselves a gulf view and settled in.
Now, the first thing you do when you walk in your by owner vacation rental is to check out the comfort factor, right? Well, we did just that. We sat on the couch, we pushed on the bed, we tried to make ourselves right at home. And our little condo passed with flying colors – the Beach Castle condo was so comfortable! The couch felt fantastic after a long day of being in the car, and the bed was like being tucked in at home. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom and a kitchen full of plates, glasses, and utensils. So much more convenient than staying in a hotel – there’s so much more room, and just the ease of living like you do at home is fantastic! And that includes sitting on the couch, propping your feet up on the coffee table, and just relaxing in front of the TV. Our condo had full cable TV! I didn’t have to wait until the next day to find out who got voted off of American Idol!
For dinner we tried to go to an Irish pub to celebrate St. Patrick’s day but it was WAY too crowded! So, as long as we were in Sarasota’s St. Armand’s circle, we grabbed some dinner at Tommy Bahama’s. We didn’t realize that the clothing manufacturer even HAD a restaurant, but it was yummy! If you find yourself in one of their locations, definitely try the shrimp and scallops in the coconut curry – we were fighting over the last bite!
We just want to thank Lissy at Beach Castle resort for making our stay so wonderful! We watched her walk around the pool area saying hello to all the vacationers – even calling some of them by name! Talk about making someone feel at home – you’re definitely not going to get that kind of treatment at a hotel, folks. Unless you own it.
